Cachexia and Muscle Wasting in Cancer Patients

Cachexia, characterized by weight loss and muscle atrophy, is a significant indicator of poor prognosis in cancer patients. The Impact of Malnutritional Status on Survival in Elderly Hemodialysis Patients

Protein-energy wasting is a prevalent issue among geriatric patients undergoing hemodialysis in Taiwan. To better understand mortality risks, we investigated the geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) as a predictor. Our study revealed that GNRI is a valuable tool for assessing malnutrition-inflammation status and predicting overall mortality in elderly hemodialysis patients.
